I know its definitely not the best the Dreamcast can do, but because of circumstances we gotta choose between these late 2001/early 2002 games that still would've been considered early-mid Dreamcast games. It uses super high-res textures which is the Dreamcast's greatest strength. A definite step up from part 3 who had rather low Rez textures( but much bigger interactive maps) and didn't use cutscenes models for gameplay unlike part 4 which swaps the cutscenes model in for an active unit. The game just seems to be the perfect balance in terms of graphics, the only thing missing is a locked 60 FPS. IAM really curious why do you think Sakura taisen 4 has the best graphics. ![]() Imagine if they built a completely new engine with also inspiration from what they saw on PS2. 2 years is a long time in the technology world. I think you also have to factor in just how much more Shenmue II is being asked to handle the game maps are way bigger and far more vastWell it was moderately out of date. What is wrong with that, when its one of the best game engines around at the time and on the Dreamcast.
